I Corinthians 13:13 states, “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” We at 1907, feel very strongly about charity, so much so that Charity is my first name (it’s always been a closely guarded secret… well until now … but that’s OK) and I have always had a heart for helping and trying to do my part, with my Broken Arrow boutiques, to help fill the world with a little more love.
My folks instilled this in me from a young age; everything else will fade, but love always remains. I want love for my fellow man to be how I live my life; it’s a lofty goal I know, but God is love, and as followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to love God and others.
One way we love is to care for orphans and widows. James 1:27 (New Living Translation) “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.” When you shop with us at 1907, at our Broken Arrow boutiques, we are able to donate a percentage to local orphan and foster care, to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and also international African community care through Safari Mission.
We are members of Battlecreek Church, and attend the Broken Arrow campus. We tithe and give offerings to our local church which in term supports people in need in Tulsa, America and the World. But our church not only attends to their physical needs, but more importantly their spiritual needs. Before Jesus ascended into Heaven, after his death on the cross for our sins, His burial and Resurrection, He gave us the Great Commission. “18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”” – Matthew 28:18-20 NLT This was not an if you want to, it was a command, as you go do these things, and we are trying to honor Jesus with our Broken Arrow boutiques business.
“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” – Hebrews 10:25 NLT We are all busy, but we make time for whatever is important to us, so I urge you to make time for God, if you don’t you will always drift away from Him. The world is a crazy place and it’s only going to get worse, so find a body of believers to do life with, find a church that preaches the truth, The Bible, and spend time with God daily. No one has ever gotten to the end of their lives and thought I should have worked more, they think I should have spent more time with my family and in relationship with God and doing more that would have impacted eternity. The only thing you can take to Heaven with you is a friend, and serving in a local church is a great way to add value to your life.
Being a member of a local church is critical for anyone who is seeking a relationship with God, we would love to invite you to our church, it’s the perfect place for imperfect people – which turns out is all of us. Battlecreek Church is one church with six locations all over the Tulsa area, so surely one is close to you, and if not, watch online to supplement you along with finding a church in your town; there are campuses in Broken Arrow, Midtown, Downtown, South Tulsa, Owasso and Jenks. We even have locations in two countries in the Middle East in Egypt and Jordan serving refugees and showing hurting people Jesus Christ and giving them and their families hope for the future. “16 For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” – John 3:16-17 NLT
Battlecreek Church exists to glorify God, by helping all people, of all ages, all the time advance in their journey with Jesus Christ. They help people know God, find freedom, discover their purpose and make a global difference. One thing I love about our church is that they don’t just care about one kind of person at a certain stage in life, you are never too old or young to make a difference in this world and we need to be reminded of that. So if you feel good about supporting an organization like Battlecreek church, please know a percentage of our profits go directly back to the local church, so shopping with us is something you can feel good about. Check them out at BattlecreekChurch.com and remember to support 1907, your favorite Broken Arrow boutiques which also supports this great church.
We also have a new partnership we are excited to tell you about with Safari Mission.
Safari Mission is an international non-profit organization, based out of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, that helps people and communities improve their lives in East Africa. Safari Mission accomplishes this by working on reversing the dependency on Western aid that plagues Africa. Safari mission trains local leaders transforming communities and helps bring an end to poverty. This is not a quick hand-out program; Safari Mission works to find long-term solutions to East Africa’s real problems, which in turn will help people for generations to come. Isn’t that really cool? By shopping with us at our Broken Arrow boutiques you can help this process.
Safari Mission’s focus is to train leaders and transform people in East Africa, specifically Kenya by teaching of God’s Word, developing leadership skills, and teaching practical subjects such as organizational and personal growth. The non-profit currently has several Bible schools across Kenya. The mission’s students include a wide array of community leaders including church leaders, doctors, government officials, teachers, and businessmen. Their Bible schools strongly emphasize ethics, leadership development, and Biblical studies.
Safari Mission has had some great successes, and since the people feel ownership of their growth, they keep pursuing a better future. Safari Mission states that the graduates of their schools are bringing light into their communities. Safari Mission graduates have started orphanages, educational centers, local churches, empowering locals and themselves by opening businesses, started prison ministries, and many other valuable community projects. Pastors that have been trained by Safari Mission have taught their congregation how to steward their money, work ethics, family relationships, and much more. They have helped pastors oversee over 100 churches, another one of their graduates ministers to over 5,000 needy children every week, and another minister has started over 40 Bible schools in the Kenyan prison system helping prisoners find Jesus and gain skills needed to help them assimilate back into society. Safari Mission believes that by training one leader, they can reach an entire community, which is building a solid foundation for East African society to blossom from within.
1907, our Broken Arrow boutiques, is developing a partnership with Safari Mission so your support will help communities in East Africa develop and reduce the poverty that has plagued these people for generations. Even if you can’t go to Africa on a mission trip, you can learn how you can get more involved to help at SafariMission.org.
